Bask on Seaboard
Bask is an upscale, chef-inspired restaurant and lounge located in the courtyard area of the NC Music Factory in Charlotte, NC.
Project Approach
The design of the interior and addition of the canopy outside were inspired by the owners’ collective desires and vision for the restaurant. The desire was to maintain the existing mill’s brick walls, wooden floors and beamed ceilings and insert into that old shell a new modern design. We were able to achieve this by designing three floating, curved, wooden wall sections which seem to float off of the dividing wall to the kitchen. The three floating walls give a sense of separation for the bar, chef’s table and lounge area at the same time maintaining the open space and feel of the old mill. The Owners are very pleased with the design and are looking forward to opening more restaurants similar to this in the future.
